  1. ehm, they will be forcing the AI on people for 'free'. The amount of surveillance and data collection that's possible with AI is a golden mine and the corporations and others will have complete profiles on you to target you with adds and manipulate you at will.

  2. I really need your help. My S23 Ultra hasn't gotten any updates since last year May. I'm using a US unlocked device in another country. Does that really explain it?

  3. But here's a negative thing about it that I can understand. Don't know if you know about it or not. When you click on apps in settings, and click on any app. And then to click on notifications. You now don't have any notification categories, that you can toggle or customize. Such as notifications ,chosen sounds or vibration options. Can't choose any notification sounds for any of my apps. And it has no option for system apps to be shown !!. This is rather unbelievable. How can I even change my ringtone for my phone, when I get a text or a phone call. I'm stuck with what I chose before the update. Maybe you know something about this and advise what to do.

  4. AI features are just collecting still more of your data for monetization. I suppose it's nice that they give you the option to do processing on your device, but I wonder how much really stays there and how much is processed on servers anyway.

I was interested in the battery protection settings, but the adaptive mode depends on enabling the customization service – same privacy concern there. And the "maximum" setting only lets you charge to 80% now, as opposed to 85% before – why?

They also got rid of the swipe from the bottom navigation option. Can't imagine why, it's not like it's in the way of something important.

All in all, not that impressive of an update.

  5. My s23 ultra was promised updates for a certain amount of time. Just one model later and their already excluding some features. To me it's an betrayal. I will be switching to Apple after this phone. Especially if their going to be charging for certain features after 2025. I have been a lifelong Samsung galaxy guy.

  6. Why wouldn't they add the AOD and lock screen widgets. Hope good lock gets it. Got on my T-Mobile s23u. If they start charging for it, they can kiss their sales goodbye, and everyone will get the pixel.

  7. I think everyone is getting ahead of themselves with this AI stuff. If Samsung reverts to a subscription model for AI how will this be executed? Will we be able to remove the features from our phones to free up space or will it remain on devices constantly prompting users to subscribe for the service? This could get really ugly.

  8. updated my base S23 to one ui 6.1 today, Ai is amazing and phone is faster but the animaation when gong in n out of apps is a big choppy now seems like frame rate drops, any one else having the same issue ?
