  1. This question is irrelevant!!! Yes, IF you like code or coding, there will ALWAYS have a place for you!!!! There's a second skill to have when coding : curiousity, solver-skill kinda…..
    And you're good to go!!!

  2. 1- The job prospects data is gathered from IT companies and colleges that want more money spent on programming courses. They always predict more demand.

2- Compilers were not used to make programming easier. In fact C is much more difficult than earlier languages like BASIC and FORTRAN. Compliers are used for portability – a program written in C will work on any computer with a C compiler.

3- The fact that GPT is a bit rubbish at programming is irrelevant. Its a language model, not an expert system. But it can and has been adapted to produce code and _it keeps learning all the time_.

  3. At the end you said all web developers in the future need to know react, do you think react is going to be a much better framework than angular in the future?

  4. AI is just a tool that saves you from typing too much trivial stuff. It is very helpful but not very accurate. It still requires a software engineer to get the job done!

  5. Coding is dead! period! NO miserable has nothing to do with it. in my country like 80% of well ranked university graduates with BSc. degree with 90 scores can't find job. and in fact, many of them have many projects to show in their portfolio and high quality MOTIVATED people (not miserable like you present it). Look for job 1-2 years and no one even invite them to an interview. You are not saying the truth!

  6. I’ve been using AI to make a game and it sucks. Leaves out important code. Forgets things. Advises code that doesn’t match your current code. It can give good pointers to look for, and the approach to write the code. However, none of the code actually applies to a full project.

  7. People spending more time wondering if its worth learning instead of learning, just to realize it was worth learning, and if they had just learnt it, they'd have a job.

  8. Probably depends on how fast the AI will develop, BUUUT what I have learned is that the AI needs a lot of handholding and steering. That obviously can change with gpt 5 and onwards, but for now it is still in it's baby shoes.

  9. I've been programming for about 25 years. Things like ChatGPT have been amazing, but as the video states it's just freed me up to do more design and engineering, rather than writing CRUD frameworks or getting an SQL JOIN to work properly. It's also been great for refactoring functions and bouncing ideas around.

But at the moment you still have to be very careful with the outputted code. Often it works, but it can also be nuts.

  10. Is it Realistic to be a self-taught programmer thru on line learning, books etc., and be able to land an actual job without a college degree in some computer science major from a university to show at a job interview?

  11. Mosh, you definetly are the interested person to say so, cause thats what you do for living. But lets be honest: a year ago ai was a joke, half a year it was better now it is 10 times better than it was half a year ago. My manager with zero coding experience wrote a software for production, using gpto and it works fine. It is not very sophisticated ofc but it is not the easiest one too. It took him 3 hours to do it, i would do it for a day or two. Ofc im not a senior developer but not every company can afford senior developers aswell. They cost money and buisness owners see cheap and fast ai on the horizont well, guess what they will do? Not now may be, but next year for sure , when it would be 100 times better than now. Only blind dont see this. Big changes are coming and better to prepare for them.

  12. AI, as any tools, won't make software engineers obsolete, but the more it will improve and the more job seekers will have to set the bar higher with their skills to stay relevant.

  13. The AI we all will have to deal with in 10 or 15 years will be totally different from what AI is today. Today code still will have to be reviewed by humans – 15 years from now it might and most likely will not be necessary anymore. But this is something that not only software developers should be concerned about. I am a technic freak. I love technology. And I love what AI could do for mankind. Ai could be a servant to make all our lives better. Or it could be a tool in the hands of only some rich people and simply be used to replace paid jobs.

  14. My experience tells me that computer science has gone through the introduction of a new or improved language or style or code generation every two or three years. This sudden "improvement" disrupts the environment and hiring process. The "new" system is mainly a transformation of definitions of terms, not an improvement. AI is just an abortion of the language "Expert" system. In the past 40 years, we have used, then rejected 50 "improvements". Such as FORTRAN to Pascal to C++ to Java and onto infinite changes. Most of these "improvements" have led to rejection of excellent possible employees for someone that can babal the newly created terms. The bottom line is that we all go back to basic languages and design design concepts in the hope of getting back onto schedule.

  15. Sometime every person need positive advice, thanks for that as a programmer myself work in this field for 5 year can see AI made thing fast and future of programmer is to work with AI side by side and everyone in this field need to work more on how we can used these new technologies for over benefits

  16. I would say that there are mainly 2 different macro-outcomes: 1) AI will efficiently replace Softwares Engineers, Analysts, Experienced Programmers and so on -> then learn how to code and build applications can be a gym for the brain and the critical/logical thinking (and also it will help to understand what's happening under the hood) so: YES
    2) AI will remain a mere intelligence simulation without consciousness -> Software Engineers, Analysts and Programmers will still be required so: YES
