Learning how to program can make you a better person who knows how to make prompt.
What are programmers going to to with all the free time that AI helps them generate? put it on the market. A wave of professional services time on the market will destroy compensation. So, AI will not replace programmers; it'll just make their time dirt cheap.
Chatgpt is like a geenie you just have to rub the lamp to get what you need๐ ๐๐ฎ
is everyone overlooking that chat gpt code sucks arse
If you dont code then how would you know. Click bait video. Those big tech guys saying that are tuting their own horn 5-10 try 20. It will be a good tool for programmers, but it is no were near advanced to completely replace us.
It won't just code. Ai will start doing all the paperwork processing jobs.
Don't worry. Soon they will remember context .
No one needs to learn math. We have the abacus!!!
Pump and Dump.
I don't want to be jobless
This was a he best explanation about AI code assistance. Was nice to see it from other side. And I actually agree you.
LOL no, AIs are a hoaks. The AIs you seen that talks and do things fantastic are only succeeding because it's a HUMAN behind them.
Humans will have no value when new technology over take all their skills/ only few can survive and new world will emerge where people will have new works & new responsibilities & new lifestyles
The same evolution has progressed with music production. With AI , assistance is NOT a friction point . I don't need an opinion on the code I write with AI, unless I ask for it. I sink or swim on my own. What an Insider thinks about what i create and the making of it behind it means nothing to me. Picasso didn't have to consult Stack Overflow. Thank god Billy Joel didn't have to deal with Reddit and the comment section. I have saved thousands of dollars. Saved months of "back and forth" with devs who's interests were to milk my wallet, I and don't have to deal with any attitudes or "on the spectrum personality quirks". only my OWN and the AI has no issue with that . I get the job I envisioned DONE. To me, that is all that matters . So for me, sad to say as a creator that is empowered, yeah the AI HAS taken jobs. However it has enabled / empowered ME to create and get the project done and deployed. That's all I really care about. Just like having a sense of music is essential even with all the computer assistance , having a sense of how all this works IS important as well. But now us folks at the back of the church of knowledge are liberated from the tyranny of the priesthood. We got our own copy of "the Bible". We may not be a pope but we certainly can get closer to "god" on our own.
First – Anyone who says they were never very good at coding, tells me that they have a bias against coding because they were not really able to understand how to do it. I will grant that programming can be a kind of talent that even some intelligent people cannot grasp, but I tend to think if they had difficulty learning how to do significant programming they should really not be in a computer science related field. Second – programming is not coding – programming involves requirements gathering-learning the user's knowledge domain – developing people skills for effective interviewing of domain users, effective program design both at a technical level and a UI level, managing teams of less experienced programmers and using AI Bots as team members. At one time there was a tendency to separate Programmer Analysts from Programmers. Didn't work because the Programmer Analysts did not have the depth of understanding of programming to translate a requirement to a piece of code. A good programmer after time becomes a domain expert in the field that they are creating an application for. All of this requires a deep-understanding of coding techniques ( and languages – knowing what language is most appropriate to use for the application). To say that coding will be an unnecessary skill is to say learning a human language (e.g. English) is no longer needed because AI can write my novel for me. I agree that just learning elementary coding skills (like the author) will not be enough to get a good CS job – but it is an essential starting skill. I would never hire anyone in a CS field ( even in networking or cyber-security) if they told me they just couldn't "get" coding. By the way, SQL is not a coding language. And most programming languages (object-oriented) today are descendants of Smalltalk – This was not just another coding language – it was a paradigm shifting language that sparked the growth of most of the other programming languages used today., such as C++, Java, Ada, MATLAB and scores of others. Discouraging students from learning how to code is as destructive as telling students that don't really need to learn Math or English.
Fake video of laptop guy making an app๐
So I can't learn coding anymore just asking
Aaaa yes
Matt thank you for your videos. Very informative. Your channel is the greatest place to get a future tech heads up. What do you suggest someone like me, a beginner java programmer. I didn't get too far only making Qs and As for every page in beginning programming with java for dummies up until chapter 12 and I still have to read java for dummies and java all in one for dummies. I was trying to get a career in programming but after seeing some of this , I don't know where I should start ๐คท๐ฝ ๐ i am a multi talented artist in music production, drawing, animation, improvisationalist, beginner comedian and host, screenwriting, comic book artist, songwriter, singer and rapper. And I worry a lot these days as ameca the robot warned that if robots were to destroy humanity they would find a way control humanity unawaringly and I believe they are already doing this as I only get my own like and there are people that make stupid little easy made videos such as ASMR, little skit couple videos that are no more than a minute or 2 long and get 100s of 1000s of views. I believe the bots are trying to dumb down and weaken society so they can destroy humanity. I don't trust the internet anymore with business as I believe I am dead to many on the net. Where's my proof? Well I checked my YouTube IDs on 4 different phones of random people on the street and I triple checked the IDs and lo and behold 3 out of 4 phones I could find my content right away while the fourth guy's phone I could not find me at all as if i was dead on his device also a woman I love disappeared and i thought well she was stricken with cancer and that's why there's no new posts but no one on the internet whether it's a tweet or Instagram post is talking about her as if she never existed. It reminds me of the main character in George Orwell's 1984 whose love interest is seperated from him in a high tech society so I believe we might already be in an orwelian nightmare and only few are aware of it and those aware are the most oppressed on the internet. So I don't want to be a freelancer as I don't trust any clients come my way as bots can hide my freelancer account. I don't want to program if your saying now it will be more harder to get a job in programming. I don't know what to do I can't even get a job after quiting my last job that I have had for 5 years I've been out of work for 2 years applying at least Monday through Friday for the last 2 years and I only got 12 interviews and no luck they all turned me down. Perhaps what I'm saying will not be obvious to you. I feel like I'm in the snes game shadowrun trying to find clues to get out of this orwelian nightmare
You lnow this interview was Ai generated ?
Will it completely replace coding? Probably not. Will it cause companies to drastically reduce the size of their development teams and coding teams and lead to over saturation in an already saturated field? Most definitely.
Yeah letting AI just generate code that presumably no one on staff will know how to debug is just asking for trouble. Good Lord my head hurts just thinking about the meetings…
I changed my perspective about ai.. So for few years(5-10) years we will see many elimination of jobs and also many new jobs creation in the market. But i think the pace of developing new ai should be reduced. Because we know world population is gonna drop in the near future. Then this jobs can be replaced by ai/robots.. But if this pace continues, a great depression gonna happen for sure.. Maybe because of this many society /country will fall into chaos. The elimination of Democratic system is bound to happen.. Who knows, Ai can be the major factor about world war 3
Languages like C++ and JavaScript and Scala and Rust are far, far more complex than Fortran and Lisp and Smalltalk and Pascal. It's not true that programming languages have become easier to use.
In fact, Smalltalk is the simplest and easiest language to use.
* Smalltalk syntax can be summarized in its entirety on a post card. You can learn Smalltalk syntax completely within 15 minutes! You sure can't do that with Python or JavaScript.
* Smalltalk has a simple, elegant graphical IDE that is very easy to learn and use. And it supports live programming which is a huge boon for productivity.
* Smalltalk is extremely versatile. It has been used to develop everything, including a million-line theater war simulator called JWARS for the US Department of Defense.
If you just want to learn how to program without any concern for getting a coding job, then I strongly recommend Smalltalk. It's the ideal instructional language suitable for people of all ages from 8 to 80. Great for hobbyists, too!
Another AI garbage video, these kinds of channels and videos should be suppressed by YT algorithm, at least for the Premium users, it is just polutting the platform.
Personally, I think it's not really that end for the world is suffered about that becomes an obsolete career build. Unfortunately I'm in the army so none of that's really affects me since I predicted this over a year ago when I was studying to come a software involver and this sense. I'm not really worried. I get paid no matter what. This is. The beauty of having a guaranteed income is nothing that happens in AI. Artificial intelligence is really going to affect anything that I do. I will say however, but I don't think coding is yet optionally. I think this is rather foolish and absolutely delusion or make this plan. Let's be real. AI has not automated software development has simply need existing software loafers dramatically more efficient than what they would ordinarily be. When AI has agency and can understand a huge coding libraries and understand how to run through all the nuances of code. Understand the business requirements and implement it along with communicating with business people. Then software developer will be off so we as a vocation.
Would the correct thing to do now as a beginner be to get started in Machine Learning instead of trying to learn front end developing?
Chatgpt can do a lot of rhings, what is the point of living …
If you think cobol, fortran and lisp are difficult then you must think that farting is difficult. Rust is a billion times more difficult than Lisp. From all of those programming languages the easiest is Smalltalk, next is Lisp, Python/Ruby/PHP/JS/PERL, then Go, then SQL, then Pascal, C, Objective-C then Java, C#, Dart, then TypeScript, Swift, Rust.
How little you understand about programming languages.
As a Sr developer I disagree. The reality is that solving this problems requires personality traits that you won't find in other professions, because typing an English prompt is a lot harder than typing code, English is extremely ambiguous and code requires to remove ambiguity so the English text will be extremely verbose and people will have to iterate a lot on solving the problem. Most people won't really care and give up after the third try, a few non-programmers will do it, and most programmers will do it and guess what, retrain the AI for a pseudo code to guide it to do solutions.
So if anyone is going to do it is going to be existing coders with the grit and tenacity to iterate through a list of problems and requirements, your average joe/jane won't.
