I told a friend of mine about this back in 2017 but instead of a rat the human brain. Virtual reality flipped ,,seen , experienced by the non living. I got excited when I saw the the title that they had maybe fully simulated the neural circuitry of a rats brain. This is not that, this is using a neural network to model the movements of a rat. This is nothing new. Neural networks will never be able to non detirministically make a decision. Which is what is missing. Neural networks could be a useful cognitive tool. But they will never produce consciousness. For agi so.ething is missing..I think we need to start with new types of hardware.

I think it’s highly important to make it well known that just because these models mimic a brain. They are not a brain. They have no feelings or consciousness and never will.

Вот если бы они отсканировали мозг мыши и на основе скана построили модель, то это было бы уже интересно, но тут трансформеры не подойдут, да и сложность нервоной читемы и т.д. является слишком сложной задачей, на сегодняшний день.
