  1. This is good news for Microsoft and BING. Let's face it, Bing sucks as a search engine but many people are going to want a traditional choice driven search and are not going to want AI interference so naturally, they will simply move back to a traditional search engine.
If Google is smart they will offer a choice on the search page, traditional or AI, if they commit to AI and people don't like AI or trust it, Google will simple LOSE a lot of business to BING and to others.
In a world that full of conspiracy jerks, ant-vax jerks, religious jerks, and crazy people – committing solely to an AI search engine would be a very dumb business decision for Google.
If Google goes AI solo, Ill invest in the alternatives and make bank.

  2. Googles efforts have been less then impressive. Theyve become a company that you can really question what their identity is. Like wow, you got an ai to use a search bar- so instead of the user just typing in the search bar, user is going to type to it, and itll use the search bar, and then you want us to pay for it too? Back in the the 90s when google was new, they were quite a power player but now? So many reasons to hatem and distrust them.

  3. So they will try to guess what we mean in search even more than they do now, and instantly recognize illegal content in uploaded pictures, and can ban for it. I see no attraction in a chatbot that can't be fully challenged with words you wouldn't say to someone face to face.

  4. Android has already had the Ai overviews for me but not with follow up questions.

If you open the Google app. Not Chrome and enable SGE. You can have this right now instead of waiting.

To do that. Open the Google app. Look to the top left. See the green flask icon. Click that and enable the SGE Ai experiments.

Then they will show up in the Google app or in Chrome.

For Firefox on Android the only way seems to be to change your useragent and also be logged in to Google.

Also the flask icon may he another color like Blue. Before it was green.
