  1. Hi Serge, I watched your crossfade tutorial and when I use it I get the message “not enough media space between two clips”. How do I fix this and can I use crossfades. Thank you for your tutorials, Frans.

  2. Soooo many things missing in this "professional" video editor, even after 10.8 update. And some of them are so basic that even free video editors offer nowadays such as auto-caption, caption templates, easy ease… it's getting harder and harder to keep using FCP. A shame for the most valuable company on this planet.

  3. Final Cut Pro has fallen seriously behind. Have a look at the Ai tools in DaVinci Resolve 19! 🚀
    1. Magic Mask: Auto-isolate & track objects/people.
    2. Smart Reframe: Perfectly reframe shots for different aspect ratios.
    3. Face Refinement: Enhance skin tones & apply digital makeup.
    4. Scene Cut Detection: Split rendered video into clips automatically.
    5. Super Scale: Upscale footage up to 4x resolution.
    6. Auto Color: Balance colors across clips instantly.
    7. Noise Reduction: AI-powered clean-up for noisy footage.
    8. Object Removal: Remove unwanted objects seamlessly.
    9. AI Audio Tools: Isolate dialogue & match ADR.
    10. Text & Titles: Auto-generate captions/subtitles & edit text from speech.

  4. Hello Serge

can you tell me why Final Cut Pro on iPad doesn't allow me to use my HEVC videos, it just shows a red thumbnail with a puzzle symbol and a yellow triangle, despite that it should support HEVC video format… the audio of the file I guess is just standard MP4 or M4A or MPEG4.. if that matters.

  5. It should also be noted that the audio analyzer can make a complete mess of some audio clips, and that normalization should not be used unless absolutely necessary…and in most cases it isn't. A better approach, for those who have access to DAWs like Logic Pro, or Cubase Pro, or wave editors like Wavelab etc. is to 'enhance', analyze, mix, master etc. in those programs and then add the completed audio file to Final Cut Pro. Final Cut's audio editing, in my opinion, is still somewhat primitive, so should be used with a degree of caution.

  6. Serge, I want to know this about color correction. I have been applying your basic color correction methods from the time you released your video on it. However, I was finding some odd results when I used your white balance and skin tone corrections and so stopped doing those corrections. I am simply using your first two corrections regarding exposure and saturation. In this video you have touched upon balance color and white color balance. Can you please bring out a new tutorial on how to quickly add color effects please?

  7. Serge, you are gifted teacher of FCPX and I am thankful to God for giving you as a gift. BTW, I had visited an earlier video of yours about transitions based upon the use of adjustment layer and used three of the four transitions you mentioned in my current song video. Thank you Serge. I pray and hope you will continue adding your brilliant stuff till the One who is to come will come😘 🙏🙏

  8. Great information Serge. Keep doing what you're doing because it's awesome. I found the tips on the "Loudness" very helpful. I've just been cranking up the volume, but the loudness looks like a much better method. All the very best, Cheers Rick

  9. Serge is the best FCP teacher on the whole of YouTube. He doesn’t shout, he’s not showing off, he’s just a down to earth man who knows everything about FCP. Genius. He deserves so many more subscribers.

  10. Why do they make everything so complicated with Final Cut. Compare to CapCut which I know is more consumer software, but so many things could be more intuitive and easy in Final Cut, just because it’s pro software doesn’t excuse that. Prime example here, balance colour, have to do it on clip first, to then make it do it for the full clip in another menu. Unnecessarily complex and confusing. The tracking and the text following, so much easier and intuitive in CapCut.

  11. I like this style of tutorial. I always learn the tip better "seeing" it and realizing how and where I can implement it in my work. Thanks for the effort you put into your videos. You make it look easy, so I know you've worked hard on it.
