I agree with you on an open source GPT4 level model within a year – might be even sooner.
However GPT4 will not be free any time soon, too much expensive compute required to make it run.
Just look at how the Chat GPT4 service has been destroyed by an influx of users since the GPT Store announcement.
Open source will surpass and leave OpenAI and ChatGPT in the dust within 2, maybe 3 years.
I don't know about Google Deepmind however, they have been driving a lot of fundamental research that was ripped off by OpenAI and GPT.
I say that because OpenAI didn't give them credit for the ideas.

To be honest, that shadow generation is pretty bad. In motion it's harder to notice but when it's a still frame it's pretty obvious.

I'd love to see a vid on an AI that can be trained on a voice and then replace the audio on another clip. So 2 dialogue clips, 1 good, 1 bad. Learn from the good one and replace the dialogue of the bad one. Not a cleanup like Adobe Podcast or Clarity Vx but a full recreation.
I watched matt wolfes video on gemini ultra, and it fails against chatgpt, it matches in some areas but it lacks features and has a lacking image generation. But they may update more often so maybe it will get better soon

The value of interpersonal human to human connection in realspace is going to increase in value in line with the growth of AI capabilities.
Cryptography fixes most of these issues (like the fake video call for example). People have just been too lazy to use it consistently until now but we simply won't have a choice going forward. It might even lead to a decline in scams once demanding cryptographic proof of authenticity becomes the norm when doing serious online communication with anyone.
I agree w ur open source sentiment but based on well humanity and the years of things like linux/Android existing and ppl pays for someone else to manipulate it and restrict their system says it all
I wish Stability AI would focus on making Stable Diffusion the best it can possibly be for high-end consumer hardware. They're spreading themselves too thinly by pursuing experimental niche subjects like SVD, SDXL Turbo, etc. while seemingly neglecting their core product.
SDXL has already fallen way behind the state of the art in terms of prompt adherence and a substantial upgrade would be most welcome. The community has done an admirable job with custom fine-tuned models, LoRAs, etc. but that won't improve prompt adherence and can only do so much to improve output quality.

Fighting scams is a matter of knowledge, once most people are aware of AI, scamming will need to evolve. You can't futureproof against scams because tech is ever changing and knowledge is always one step behind.

Where did google state that Gemini ultra would release today? I cannot for the life of me find any statement from google about the exact release date of ultra.
Awesome video! I think a poster 50/50 half nature / half tech would symbolize the balance we're seeking between our true nature and AI 🙂 As for the deep fakes, I think this will force us, as a society to think more critically, which I do agree 100% will be ultimately good for all.
